IMAX and REAL D 2011 Schedules

UPDATE: List updated 1/12/10 following announcement of four picture deal between IMAX and Paramount.

The following schedule has been compiled from discussions with a number of cinema operators and through review of Cinema Source listings.  All films listed are believed to be locked in place between the distributors and the respective format owners, however launch dates and length of run may change without notice.

Dolphin Tale 3D (9/23, REAL D)

OCTOBER:

Real Steel (10/07, IMAX), The Three Muskateers (10/14, REAL D), Contagion (10/21, IMAX 3D, REAL D)

NOVEMBER:

Puss in Boots (11/04, REAL D), Happy Feet 2 (11/18, IMAX 3D, REAL D), Arthur Christmas (11/23, REAL D)

December:

Hugo Cabret (12/09), Mission:Impossible – Ghost Protocol (12/16, IMAX), The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn (12/23, IMAX 3D).  Rumor that both films will be in REAL D, however confirmation has not been received at this time.

Other 3D films may be added to the REAL D lineup and both 2D and 3D films to the IMAX lineup over the course of the year.  This may include Disney’s 3D conversion of Beauty and the Beast, which ran in an exclusive limited engagement at Hoyts Cinemas in Australia and New Zealand last year, as a limited engagement in North American 3D theaters.
